Marmara University Genetic and Metabolic Diseases Research and Application Center (GEMHAM) was established with the support of a "Research Infrastructure Project" presented to DPT in May 2009 by Marmara University. After the project was accepted, the establishment of the center started in October 2009. The Regulation was published in the Official Gazette on June 27, 2010, and its foundation was started to operate under the Rectorate of Central Marmara University. Since 2014, it continues its activities in the Basic Sciences building of the Faculty of Medicine at the Başıbüyük campus.
